It was believed that when the Repository was sealed by the Keeper, Charlie Cagney, that the whole affair of Ancient Magic was done with.
It is now the fall of 1892, and Sebastian Sallow has returned for his seventh year after having the Relic curse removed thanks to Raphael Rakepick. Now he notices things now that he never would have if he had never been cursed. Strange behavior from Charlie, the new Keeper and his best friend, and a ghost who isn't all she claims to be. She refers to herself as the Specter, a decaying, eerie figure who appeared shortly after the sealing of the Repository making demands of Professor Black as well as the managers of Crossed Wands, Garreth and Leander.
Her presence, combined with an International Pageantry Dueling Tournament where Cagney, a newcomer to the art, rises to the top quickly, lead Sebastian to believe that there's an underlying thread that ties this all together.
The mystery unfolds as the shadow trio go through their final year at Hogwarts, and Sebastian is at the center of it all.
